President's Message
Daniel Fellows
Fellows Construction Company, LLC
It is with great honor, to be elected by my colleagues in the construction industry, to serve as the AGC Shreveport Chapter's 2010 President. I am thankful to all the individuals that made this honor and opportunity possible. I, additionally, would like to thank Mr. Wayne Brown for his professionalism and mentoring, through the course of my construction years in the Shreveport-Bossier City Area.
As we enter into a new decade, I would like to thank the previous presidents that preceded me, at this chapter. I offer a special thanks to Mr. Kurt Dean, who left the chapter in strong stability and financial growth, through some of the most perilous economic times the nation has seen in many years. My desire for 2010 is to continue the growth of this chapter. I strive to fulfill a dream of recruiting 25% more General Contractors to join our membership, and an addition 50-70 new Associate Members.
The challenge ahead to some seems foreboding, but through faith, friendship, and community relationship, I feel the AGC can serve as the pivotal light to guide the construction industry into a new era. LEEDS Certifications, Energy efficient buildings, B.I.M.s' and other modes of construction, of which our nation is pursuing, are avenues this chapter will share with the business communities. We thrive on our knowledge and professionalism, in construction concepts, and will offer seminars and training for the future generations of construction professionals.
As 2010 evolves, I intend to entertain new, bold, fresh ideas for the growth of Shreveport and Bossier City's construction industry, and to install the AGC Chapter foremost as the leader of such growth. We all must pull together and unify to achieve the three symbols the organization represents: Integrity, Skill and Responsibility.
We have signed a partnership with OSHA and we must, now, stand behind this agreement. We need to assure all workers in construction are safe from any harm both in the workplace and around the jobsite.
Thank you once again for this honorable position and with trust in God, we will break open new horizons and frontiers for the future generations to build upon. Together we will enter a new dimension of building concepts and ideas that others will follow for years to come.
